Went to see a special exhibit forcusing on a French artist, Lèger, and his influence on modern art in Philadelphia. A special treat, though, was the Vermeer we were able to see. “A Young Woman Seated at the Virginals” is the only Vermeer owned privately and is not often on display. A virginal, by the way, is a musical instrument similar to a harpsichord (I looked it up).
