Music and Monuments
Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, and now Washington. We were very excited. Diana Krall was performing at Wolf Trap on Saturday night and we knew the music would be incredible. The weather was going to be perfect for a pre-concert picnic and Sunday was going to be just as nice. We would be cruising the Potomac between Georgetown and Alexandria, something we’ve never done in all our trips to DC. Great music and new views of a beautiful city; a weekend to love.
I never knew these steps are called the Watergate Steps, designed to welcome visitors traveling by water to the city.
The Navy-Merchant Marine Memorial honoring those who served in World War I. It is seven seabirds flying just above an ocean wave.
Left to right: Washington Monument, Old Post Office Tower, U.S. Forest Office headquarters tower (very small, coming out of trees, the domed Jefferson Memorial, and the 14th Street Bridge.
Hains Point, between the Washington Channel and Potomac River. It’s on the course of the Cherry Blossom Run that the kids do in the spring.
